Research Questions:
Tell me a time when you forgot to take your medication? What happened?
How often do busy schedules lead to missed medication doses? How does this affect your health?
How do you manage multiple daily medications?
Have you encountered complex or unclear medication instructions? How do you deal with them?
The Main Insight
Theme 1: Convenience of use
3 out of 5 participants struggled with finding the information they wanted in a short period of time.
Participants prefer easy to use and allow them to find information quickly and easily.
Theme 2: Less Worried
4 out of 5 participants were unsure whether they have taken their medication on time, which can lead to stress and worry.
Providing a history section to track their medication status will definitely be helpful.
Theme 3: Improved Health Outcomes
3 out of 5 participants were unable to confirm they had taken their medication as prescribed.
Consistent medication use can improve health outcomes for people with chronic conditions.
Iteration
2 major improvements in my design.
Before Usability Testing
After Usability Testing
Eliminate Extra Text Fields
Originally designed to include multiple text fields for inputting extensive medication details.
Based on user feedback, they preferred a single, all-in-one place to access information.
Before Usability Testing
After Usability Testing
Optimize the Stats & Progress
Originally designed to separate the progress tracking sections into daily, weekly and monthly intervals.
Based on user feedback, they found it confusing and overloaded with information.
As a result, I have implemented visual elements to present the information more clearly.

Retrospective
Project takeaways.
What I've learnt, and would have done differently next time..
Empathize with real patients
Engaging with real patients in a hospital or clinic can be highly valuable. They can offer insights and suggestions that I may not think of or find in research papers.
Embrace user-centered design
Prioritizing user needs is essential, especially when designing for adults or seniors. I will allocate more time for user research and testing to identify any desired features beyond ease of use.
Commit to continuous improvement
Recognizing that the design process doesn’t end with the initial launch, continuous improvement based on user feedback is crucial. While the current design is intentionally streamlined with fewer features, I remain open to incorporating additional features as necessary in the future.
